Bird Man
An elderly man walks home after purchasing a bird at Bird Market, Hong Kong. In the early 1960s, many local bird lovers kept songbirds as a hobby and liked to go to tea houses or restaurants together with their feathered friends so that they could enjoy dim sum and hear the birds singing at the same time. A majority of them used to gather at a tea house in Shanghai Street, Mong Kok. After the closing down of the tea house, those bird lovers moved to the nearby Hong Lok Street and established a bird market.
